Squares & Rectangles

A wooden raised bed containing aromatic rosemary and Spanish lavender borders the fence line and ends shy of a 6' tall x 3' wide timber screen. The timber screen conceals the trash cans and provides a perfect spot to hang a basket of trailing flowers.

Crushed limestone compacts to form a sturdy, attractive ground cover. Square stepping stones embedded in the limestone guide the visitor from one side of the garden to the other while providing a sense of perspective, and solidifying the garden's visual theme of straight lines, right angles, and squares & rectangles.

Washed sea shell scattered amongst the limestone gives the garden a coastal effect.

A custom wooden gate, with it's hinges on the opposite side of the yard as the trash cans, opens inward, resulting in an easy, ergonomically efficient, trash-take-out experience.
