Large white river rocks were previously installed in the main front bed and corner bed of the yard. Original plantings were crammed into the beds and looked like every other stock bed in the neighborhood.
The stock plants were removed and the and Indian hawthorn was reinstalled to create a hedge around the disconnected beds. A palette of sunshine ligustrum, drift rose, and blue salvia combined with an array of coquina boulders provide a sense of rhythm and harmony.
The white river rocks in the main bed were redistributed to tree rings beneath two Sylvester palms and two crepe myrtles in the beds connected to the house, and around two oak trees in the beds along the perimeter of the lot.
Pine bark mulch ties everything together.
